The inspiration for our angel is a statue that stands alone in a Warsaw cemetery,  lovingly looking to the ground. Her hand is gently extended, a reassuring gesture that peace will be granted. In our eyes she is passing a blessing onto a soul at rest. In most religious images, the characters look upward for guidance. In this case, our angel has flown from above with a message which she is relaying to the ground. We used this image as inspiration for our angel, who is blessing the ground, vines, and valley. We use the image on our label to pass that blessing along as we enjoy special moments together, sharing wine, stories, and our good fortune.

HER NAME IS SOFIA

The statue in Warsaw is particularly touching for Bonnie Cabaud. She grew up on a farm in rural Poland, a few hours from Warsaw. The youngest of seven children, Bonnie has faint but fond memories of her mother who passed away when she was five years old. Bonnie considers her mother, Sofia, to be her guardian angel.
